Dar El Oloum College of Science and Technology Participates in the Expanded Meeting of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research with Deans of Private Colleges

Dar El Oloum College of Science and Technology actively participated in the expanded meeting chaired by Prof. Madawi Musa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, held at the premises of the Africa International University. The meeting brought together 101 deans and representatives of private colleges from across Sudan to discuss the advancement of private higher education and address the sector's current challenges.

The College was represented by Prof. Ibrahim Mohammed Adam, Dean of Dar El Oloum College of Science and Technology. The high-level meeting was also attended by Mr. Ali Al-Sheikh, Secretary-General of the Ministry; Dr. Abdel Qader Mohammed Hassan, Director General of Private, National, and Foreign Higher Education; Prof. Hatim Mohammed Khair, Vice Chancellor of Africa International University; and Dr. Murtada Ali Othman, Director of the Minister's Executive Office.

The discussions focused extensively on the ministerial decision regarding the return of universities and colleges to their original campuses. Alongside the participating institutions, the College expressed its support for this initiative as a key step toward ensuring the stability and continuity of the educational process. The Minister also reviewed several important technical issues, including the regulations governing the transition of colleges into universities, the required infrastructure standards, and the methodology for calculating the vertical floor area of educational buildings.

Demonstrating its academic leadership and institutional impact, four strategic proposals submitted by Dar El Oloum College of Science and Technology were officially adopted by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research. These proposals included institutionalizing biannual meetings between the Minister and private college deans to strengthen direct communication and enhance representation within the National Council for Higher Education; allocating permanent land and campuses for universities and colleges as part of urban planning initiatives in Khartoum State and other states; granting customs exemptions for imported educational equipment and academic resources; and increasing this year's student admission quotas to accommodate the large number of Sudanese Secondary School Certificate candidates who recently sat for the national examinations.

The meeting concluded with an agreement to establish a specialized committee comprising college deans and institute directors. The committee will be responsible for following up on issues affecting private higher education institutions, coordinating with the Ministry to address outstanding challenges, and supporting the continuous development of academic and administrative performance.
