Professor Ibrahim Mohamed Adam, Dean of Dar El Oloum College for Science and Technology, participated in the specialized scientific symposium entitled "Challenges of Scientific Research in Educational Institutions After the War," hosted by the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Khartoum on Saturday, 25 July.
The symposium was organized by the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies in the State of Qatar and was attended by a large number of academics, including leading experts in scientific research, as well as representatives and participants from various public and private universities and educational institutions.
The symposium addressed a number of key themes that focused on assessing the academic and logistical damage and challenges faced by higher education and scientific research institutions as a result of the war. The sessions also featured specialized papers discussing mechanisms for academic recovery, methods of protecting and securing research data and centers, in addition to ways of rebuilding the infrastructure of university laboratories and libraries.
During his participation, Professor Ibrahim Mohamed Adam emphasized the importance of concerted efforts among all academic institutions and supporting bodies, stressing the pivotal role played by Dar El Oloum College for Science and Technology in supporting the higher education system and advancing scientific research in order to provide innovative and practical solutions that contribute to national recovery and meet the needs of society in the post-conflict phase.
The symposium concluded with a number of important recommendations, foremost among them the need to strengthen research partnerships between national universities and regional and international institutions, such as the Center for Conflict and Humanitarian Studies, and to establish resilient knowledge networks that ensure the continuity of research and academic activities under all exceptional circumstances.
